Safety guide
Most people you meet on JodiSync are exactly who they say they are. These are the protections built into the app, and a few habits that help.
What JodiSync does
- Selfie check. Every member is asked for a selfie, which our team reviews before a verified badge appears.
- Photos checked first. New photos are reviewed before other members see them. Your main photo is locked for a short time after you join.
- Adults only. Women must be 18 or older and men 21 or older. The age rule is checked by our servers, not only by the app.
- No addresses, no map. Others see your area and a distance band such as “Within 5 km”, never your exact location.
- Numbers stay private. A phone number is shared only when both people choose to share it. Voice calls inside the app never show a number.
- Family without snooping. Family Circle members see your shortlist and notes, never your chats.
- No Aadhaar. We never ask for your Aadhaar number.
Still to come: automatic checks on photos and messages, a live selfie check, and verifying your phone number before you can share it.
What you control
- Blur your photos until you match (on by default for women).
- Report or block anyone from their profile or from your chat. Blocked people can no longer see or message you.
- Pause your profile whenever you need a break, or delete it. Deleted accounts can be restored for 30 days, then they are removed.
- See and withdraw the permissions you gave under Me → Privacy and consents.
Good habits
- Keep the first conversations in the app until you feel sure.
- Never send money, gift cards or bank details to someone you have not met, however good the reason sounds.
- Meet for the first time in a busy public place, tell family or a friend where you are going, and travel on your own.
- Involve family when you are ready: that is what Family Circle is for.
- If someone pressures you, asks for intimate photos or seems to be hiding a marriage, report them.
Report a problem
Use Report on the person’s profile or in the chat; reports go to our team. For anything urgent or outside the app, write to hello@jodisync.com. If you are in danger, call 112.
